The Mission of Intelligent Worksheets is to support English language learners and teachers — in Japan and elsewhere — with study materials and activities that are effective, engaging and above all ENLIVENING.

The materials here reflect an approach to language learning — and to education in general — that prioritizes the QUALITY of EXPERIENCE for each teacher and learner over other forms of "success."

In this approach, with what is actually happening NOW paramount, every moment is taken as full of potential: an opportunity to grow not only as a learner or teacher of a particular subject, but also as a whole person.

A distinction needs to be made between a simple approach and one that is simplistic. Intelligent Worksheets operates from the foundational concept that theory can and be simple for teachers and that it must be so if it is to be effective in managing complexity.

Intelligent Worksheets is about creating a framework, clarifying principles and offering practical examples to help as we pass through the rapid and disruptive changes in education that are inevitably coming. Heart and integrative systems thinking are needed now to manage AI and transcend the specialization that currently dominates educational research in general and the field of language teaching in particular.

Once we understand the simplicity that holds everything together, the complex becomes clear, manageable and fun. Theory can support practitioners rather than alienate them.

The current age calls for an education based on trust in individuals and their innate humanity and strength. Education for this moment in history must be designed so as to allow and encourage individuals to discover and enjoy being themselves. This is how we will be able to come together collectively to solve the problems of this world.
