Quick Guide — Q&A JUNKS / 2LM

This tool generates two sets of paired worksheets from questions and answers about a reading passage. Learners work in pairs to correct each other and repeat the complete sentence.

Sample Passages

  • Three sample passages at different levels: Advanced (B2+), Intermediate (B1), Elementary (A2+). Click a level button to load.
  • The same content at three levels means mixed-ability classes can work on the same topic simultaneously.
  • To use your own content, use Clear all and enter your questions and answers below.

Set 1 — JUNKS (Jumbled Chunks)

  • Learner A sees the question with middle words scrambled, plus the correct answer.
  • Learner B sees the correct question, plus the answer with middle words scrambled.
  • The first and last word(s) are shown in grey as anchors.

Set 2 — 2LM (Two Letters Missing)

  • Learner A sees the question with two letters missing from eligible words, plus the correct answer.
  • Learner B sees the correct question, plus the answer with two letters missing.
  • Eligible words: 5+ letters, not capitalised, not in the exempt list. First two letters replaced with __.

How Both Exercises Work

  • These are not tests. The goal is noticing and repetition — building fluency and accuracy.
  • These exercises work best when learners correct each other with phrases or the complete sentence, not one-word prompts.
  • They also work best when learners practise speaking without looking at the worksheet — first holding the sentence in memory, then looking up and speaking.
  • Both exercise types work well after learners have read or listened to the passage.
  • Download any of the five output sheets as an RTF file, ready to open in Word and print.
  • Maximum 40 question-and-answer pairs per worksheet.
  • There is a link at the top of this page to a more detailed explanation of how JUNKS and 2LM worksheets work.
